RULES

TEAM

SHOWDOWN

GAME: DOTA 2

MODE: CAPTAINS MODE

NUMBER OF PLAYERS: AT LEAST 2 TEAMS

OVERVIEW

Teams will play against other teams and are matched based on a similar average skill level. Matches will be Single Elimination (BO1) & first pick will be determined by Coin Flip. The finals will be a BO2 unless stated otherwise.

REQUIREMENTS

GAME CLIENT & DISCORD

Players are required to be in both the Game Client lobby and the appropriate Voice Channels in Discord.

PUNCTUALITY

If a player is not in their respective lobbies/channels and is not ready to start the game 5 minutes after the match start time, the player will receive a penalty and the team will lose the match. The final decision is up to the administrators of the match.

It is recommended for all players of a team to be ready at least 15 minutes before the match start time.

DURING A MATCH

PAUSING

Each team has 2 pauses per match. Please be patient and wait until the player that paused the game resumes it.

If the pause is longer than 5 minutes, players may use their second pause for an additional 5 minutes. After the whole pause duration has been used, players are allowed to resume the game.

Both Team Captains must make sure their teams are ready before resuming the game.

DISCONNECTS

In the case of a player disconnecting, please wait until they reconnect. If a player is disconnected for more than five minutes, players are allowed to resume the game.

STREAMING

Any player can stream their match and they are encouraged to do so. Casters will also cast certain matches (i.e. Finals) throughout the tournament.

SPECTATING

Players are allowed and encouraged to watch the matches! Certain games will be casted and streamed on Twitch. Refer to updates on our Discord and Telegram channel.

VIOLATIONS

SMURFS

Smurfing will not be tolerated in the matches. When indicating your skill level, please enter your appropriate rank and not that of the account you are playing on. Players identified to have been smurfing will have the team disqualified from the tournament and the player will be banned from the server.

CHEATING

Use of third-party programs or abusing game-breaking exploits is strictly prohibited.

If a player is caught cheating, the team will immediately lose the match and be disqualified from the tournament.

This is a serious offence and cheaters will be banned from the server.

THROWING

Players and teams who register for these events should be sportsmanlike while also having fun. Throwing games or playing with the intention to ruin the experience for others will get you banned from future events.
